Checklist of Essential Items for Your Trip and Stay in Croatia
Hi, today I would like to share some tips on how to prepare for a holiday in Croatia. Croatia is a beautiful country that offers many attractions for tourists, such as picturesque coastline, historic cities, rich culture, and delicious cuisine. If you plan to spend your vacation there, it is worth planning a few things in advance to avoid unnecessary stress and surprises.- Identification document with a photo for everyone (ID card or passport)
- EHIC insurance and/or additional insurance
- Car registration certificate for the car you are driving
- Car insurance, preferably third-party liability + comprehensive insurance with towing package just in case
- Vignettes for the countries you are passing through:
- Warning triangle
- Reflective vests
- Car first aid kit
- Foreign currency account, Revolut type card, cash—since January 1, 2023, EURO is the official currency in Croatia!
- Basic medicines such as painkillers/anti-inflammatories, eye drops, ear drops, bandage, elastic bandage, gauze, something like Octenisept, plasters, electrolytes, probiotics for vomiting and diarrhea, calcium, of course, any regular medications and/or cross-border prescription, ointment for insect bites
- Foam, cream, or other sunburn remedy
- Insect repellent
- Sunscreen with at least 30 FPS, but we recommend 50+ in peak season!
- Headgear
- Sunglasses
- Beach mat, beach blanket, folding beach chair—according to preference or simply a beach towel
- Beach towels. Facilities usually provide towels, but for domestic use, remember to ask and if necessary, bring your beach towels or buy them on-site
- Swimsuit, UV clothing (especially for children!), swim trunks
- Snorkeling mask
- Water ring for children, water wings or vests, foam noodles, and other water gadgets (everything is available on-site)
- Water shoes
- Umbrella with a base for filling with water or sticking into stones/gravel or beach tent
- Beach cooler bag
- Beach trolley
